a few months ago i heard adele's "to make you feel my love." a remix of garth brook's original. which happens to be "our song." we even went to a garth brook's concert the summer we were dating. and i gave tim the entire garth brook's CD collection for his birthday.
and then, last week i heard this remix (by mick mcauley and winifred horan).
dare i say i love it more than the original?
and so here we are.
at a time of a remix.
and dare i say i love it more than the original?
a dear friend sent me the picture of the double rainbow over my "old" house.
it made me feel all funny inside.
an unidentifiable feeling.
was it sad?
was it longing?
was it a bit of laughing at that huge master suite?
was it happiness that i would never ever ever have to weed those flower beds again?
was it missing my neighbors?
was it remembering?
was is gratitude at where i live now?
yes.
a remix.
and a reminder that the same day that i was taking pictures of a double rainbow out the balcony of my new house (and making a remix video of our own of the orignal with tim) that a neighbor was remembering me and taking a picture of my old house.
and sent it to me because she knew how much i loved this double rainbow video.
which was sent to me perhaps in my literal darkest hour.
by another dear friend.
it made me laugh.
and later it made me cry.
and this year i had been praying about a few things. . .
when i looked up and saw that gorgeous double rainbow out my bedroom balcony.
i ran and got the family.
and it was a good reminder.
of promises kept.
and that sometimes remixes are better than the originals.
Wow. So beautifully written. Thanks for helping me to always look for double rainbows in my life too.
