I once wrote defining myself that I was:
Mother. Daughter. Granddaughter.
Cozy fires and blankets in the shade.
Despair frosted with hope.
Trying.
Friendship.
Power in labor.
Secrets guarded.
A thousand lives lived.
Glossy magazines and messy sinks.
Later, I changed that definition to:
I am
A daughter.
A mother.
A granddaughter.
A niece.
A wife.
Cozy fires and blankets in the shade.
Hope that replaces the greatest of despair.
Enough.
Friendship.
Power in mercy.
Family guarded.
A thousand lives circling 'round me.
Real.
Scarred but still alive.
This morning, after slicing magoes for Skyler, he looked at me and said: "Mommy, you are the best maker."
A maker.
I would add that to my definition of myself.
A maker.
That makes me think of President Uchdorf's talk about CREATING from the RS broadcast in Fall 2008 (I only know the year because it was a few weeks after my 2nd daughter was born, I'm not usually that quick with a reference). :o) Your "maker" is like his "creator". Love it!
