For the past couple of years I have chosen a theme or word for the year.
2009 was soar. I am not sure at the end of 2009 if we soared or if we crashed and burned. But I guess we're in tact.
I love this print (and hope it becomes available again!) and at first I only thought of its literal meaning--or sewing up those holey socks. But today, as I have been trying to narrow down a theme for 2010, it seemed to mean much more. Make do with what I currently have. Mend relationships. Make do and mend--find beauty in what is already in place before you. Or maybe get out my sewing machine and repair it until it is beautiful once more.
What is your word for 2010?
I think our word for 2009 might be "savor."
I'm glad you thought Feed was interesting. It's definitely not for everyone, but I sure felt like the "message" was shattering and important.

my word for 2010 is going to be denial. (or maybe a better word would be discipline). more on that later.

I love your theme for this year Brook. I was just looking at several notebook pages (front and back) of goals I have made to accomplish --mind you, the deadlines for these is--sometime before I die! I think it's a good idea this year if I take a deep breath and follow your example of a theme or word, a visual that inspires instead of leaving me short of breath with written reminders of what I am not..yet. Everything --a time and season! I'm intrigued by Ally's word "Feed".

Ok -i'm embarassed. I was reading through the books on your nightstand --"Feed" is a book, not an inspirational word for 2010!! It could be though--couldn't it?? Feed --tummies, souls, spirit??? I'm such a goof..sorry!
